Main Purpose:

Sr Director - Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) at PepsiCo, AMESA is responsible for developing and implementing the company's EHS policies, programs, and strategies across AMESA Sector. Oversee the company's efforts to create a safe and healthy workplace for employees, protect the environment, and comply with relevant regulations. Provide technical expertise and guidance on EHS matters to business units and locations across the AMESA Sector. Work closely with the SC leadership team and Business Units to ensure that PepsiCo's EHS programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with business goals. Sr Director of EHS reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain Technical Services, AMESA. Responsibilities:


Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement PepsiCo's global EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on EHS matters, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation, and environmental management.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, functional partners, and other stakeholders to integrate EHS considerations into business strategies and operations.
  • Partner with the EHS leadership team to provide guidance and support to business units and locations on EHS matters.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in specific EHS areas
  • Develop and manage EHS budgets and resources to ensure the effective implementation of EHS programs across the company.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and communication programs to ensure that employees are aware of their responsibilities and are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely and sustainably.
  • Work closely with business units and locations to identify and address EHS risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct EHS audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001).
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement EHS programs and initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify and address EHS risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of Subject matter experts and EHS generalists at Sector and Business units
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments and emerging EHS trends and provide strategic guidance to the organization on these matters.
  • Represent PepsiCo externally on EHS matters, including with regulators, industry associations, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Key Skills/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
  • At least 18+ years of total expereience in EHS and 10+ year progressive EHS leadership experience in a global, multi-site organization.
  • Experience managing EHS programs in a complex manufacturing environment, including familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including experience leading a team of EHS professionals.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute EHS strategies and plans that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and create a culture of safety and sustainability.
