Sketch & Etch is a fast-growing, super creative company based in Geelong, Australia. We constantly push boundaries with what we do and refuse to stay stagnant.

We won the 2019 Retail Business of the Year Award at the Geelong Business Excellence Awards...this shows just how awesome our team is! We have customers all over the world and are really excited about what 2021 has in store for the S&E Team !

You cannot pigeonhole what Sketch & Etch makes into one single category, as every job is different. If you tried to describe what we do day in day out, it would be something like "Sketch & Etch focus on high quality bespoke and customizable pieces for our clients we are only limited by our client's imagination".

But even that doesn't do it justice.

On any given day we will make jaw-dropping Neon signage for a client's wedding, a business's office, and everything in between.

We get asked this a lot. What are our values? Now, these aren't your stereotypical corporate values that are just buzzwords with no thought attached.

Our Core Values reflect who we are. They are a HUGE Neon in our Workshop. They influence what we do each and every day.

The Gig

We are looking for a part-time Graphic designer that has the potential to transition to full-time in the future. You should be an expert in order to design mockups of neon signs for our Customers to approve.

The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail to ensure that the customers' specifications are followed and have a positive attitude towards recurrent tasks.

The candidates should be committed to meeting deadlines. It is important that the candidates know how to follow instructions and processes, but also provide their own creative input to the projects.

A Day in the Life

Communicate with client managers to determine client specifications

Amendments to existing designs

Setting up files for print and laser cutting

Creating neon sign designs for clients who have ordered through our website's neon builder

Creating custom design neons for potential clients who have sent in inquiries.

Mocking up design proofs and sending them to client managers for client approval

Preparing neons files for production

Working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer and Client Management team to ensure all designs are prepared to standard and in a timely manner.

Must Haves : (ALL must know skills / must have experience on)

2+ years of working experience in a graphic designer role

You have an existing portfolio

Experience in Adobe Illustrator (specifically with using the pen tool)

Background in any project management tool (PipeDrive is an advantage)

Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Have experience working with Slack and / or Zoom / Google Hangouts

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail

Highly organized

Excellent at following instructions and processes

Highly committed to meeting deadlines is a major requirement

Being comfortable with recurrent tasks

Work autonomously and excel at the everyday tasks you do

Have a reliable fast computer with good internet (above 10mbps)

Amenable to overlap during AEDT business hours and work 40 hrs / week (minimum of 2-3 hours overlap each day)

As our business grows, so will your role. We want you to train up more team members as we grow!

Nice to have :

Background in Shopify or any e-commerce platform is an advantage.
