Manufacturing Operations Planner

Work Location: Gladstone, Queensland

FFI is transforming regional Australia through green industry manufacturing with a Global Green Energy Manufacturing Centre (GEM) in Gladstone, Queensland. Stage one of the six-stage project will establish Australia’s first multi-gigawatt-scale electrolyser factory – a world-class facility with an initial capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW) per annum – more than doubling current global production.

Reporting to the Planning and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production planning, schedule and forecasting, materials planning and sourcing, and maintenance planning and scheduling at our new Green Hydrogen Electrolyser manufacturing facility at Gladstone, Queensland.

This role will see you liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, so you’ll need to have great communication skills, a resilient attitude and ability to take on varying challenges on a day -to day basis. You will also be driven to achieve and keen to learn. Key accountabilities will include:

  • Daily and weekly material availability planning and operational sequence and planning
  • Review and release production orders based on defined production planning principals
  • Align material demand with production schedules
  • Review of safety stocks, MOQ's and pack sizes on a periodic basis. Forecasting, scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
  • Coordinating between different operations teams, project teams and determining the required materials
  • Assist with preparing operations budgets and forecast, inventory management
  • Working with order entry team, ensure the sales order and forecast align and accurate
  • Create and issue purchase orders based on MRP requirements, MRO and manual requirements.
  • Monitor supplier backorders and confirms delivery with suppliers, tracks supplier performance to purchase order requirements
  • Plan and schedule operational maintenance activities in SAP
  • Ensure maintenance planning (PMs and breakdowns) are executed and monitored
  • Ensure critical spares and operational spares are available and on order as needed or planned by maintenance planning
  • Plan and coordinate machine down time with production plan to make efficient use of time and resources
  • Ensures compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results.
  • Assesses risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Degree qualified with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment OR 7+ years’ experience in planning using SAP in a production environment
  • Experience in maintenance planning is desirable
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to work well in a team
  • Committed to workplace health and safety
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Skilled in problem solving rapidly
