We have exciting new leadership opportunities within the Asset Management - Maintenance team on site at Bell Bay Aluminium to lead teams of tradespeople (predominantly mechanical and industrial electricians) to drive performance to meet key performance indicators with safety being at the forefront of everything we do.

You’ll set and maintain the direction of the rew, providing coaching and feedback to crew members and leading the crew to deliver specific quality and quantity of output in a safe, agile and effective manner.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who has led teams previously either in heavy industry or a related field to further develop their skills and experience whilst fostering a collaborative team culture on site.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent and working 12 hour shifts, days and nights, you will be:

• Leading the Crew in a way that ensures that the performance of the team safely meets or exceeds plan;
• Leading the Crew in a way that ensures that the plant is operated according to procedures in line with specifications and area requirements
• Assisting with technical trouble-shooting queries on plant and equipment
• Conducting required audits and inspections to a high standard, and for the purpose of reinforcing a strong HSE culture and systems;
• Ensuring targets are consistently achieved in a safe sustainable/ timely manner and with maximum customer satisfaction;
• Developing relief Crew Leaders ahead of time through open sharing of learnings and encouragement

• Strong interpersonal skills where you are present, participate, listen and ask questions to get the best ideas
• Computer literacy including exposure to Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP
• Work Management experience
• Ability to liaise and work with a range of stakeholders who are all striving to be the best operator
• Experience in heavy or related industries in a leadership position
• A passion for people and values-based leadership
• Experience or ability to lead a team to achieve results safely
• You must be eligible to obtain a high risk work license for this role
