Northern New South Wales Local Health District (NNSWLHD) is seeking a Desktop Support Assistant (Computer Operator Grade 2), to instal new ICT equipment/software and provide administrative support to technical staff to allow more efficient use of skilled staff resources.

This role supports facilities throughout the NNSWLHD - between Grafton and Tweed. The successful applicant may be asked to attend any site within the district.


This recruitment is to fill a casual pool; Successful applicants will be contacted for short placements or longer casual contracts when required by the LHD.


If you have:

  • Some experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of peripheral computer equipment - especially printers, multi-function devices, scanners, digital cameras and data projectors.
  • Ability to patch network connections within a telecommunications closet adhering to established ICT standards under supervision of senior staff.
  • Well-developed customer service skills and an ability to establish positive rapport with staff at all levels. In particular, a patient and tolerant approach to customers, especially when operating under pressure.
  • Ability to correctly follow detailed procedures including the completion and maintenance of asset maintenance records and associated documentation
