The Division


Transport’s Regional and Outer Metropolitan division’s purpose is to make regional and outer metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit. Our division is made up of over 4,400 people in over 270 locations across NSW. We operate transport services and maintain our regional networks to help our regional communities and visitors stay safe and connected.


The Opportunity



Right now, we have a Temporary Full-Time opportunity for an experienced Project Officer to join the ROM, Transport Partnerships and Innovation team to October 2024.

The role provides end to end project and administrative support and is responsible for performing day-to-day project management, operational and administrative activities to deliver project specific and ongoing team related objectives. This includes developing and managing efficient project management processes to enable effective time management and liaison on behalf of team members and ensure co-ordination of project related activities.


Other key aspects of the role include:


  • Support end to end project deliverables including establishment and coordination of project related documentation and internal reporting on project team activities.
  • Build, develop and maintain strong and cooperative working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that priorities and deadlines are met.
  • Working with the project team by monitoring the progress of projects against key performance indicators.
  • Identify, prioritise and determine urgency of the critical issues requiring attention and support.
  • Develop and implement projects methodologies to support the management and reporting of project milestones, communications, governance and compliance
  • Produce and maintain reports, policies, standards, procedures and tools that prescribe best practice to manage projects
  • Provide advice on project strategies required to guide compliant activities.

About You


You are a proactive Project Officer with proven experience in project and stakeholder management and demonstrated problem solving, research and data analytical skills and capacity to present information and data in a logical and coherent manner.


The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Project Officer, having gained this experience working on large, complex programs of work. Exposure to transport or a similar industry is also desired, but not essential. You will thrive in a pressurised environment, and display agility and adaptability in an ever-changing climate.


Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline and or relevant experience is essential.


You will also have well developed communication skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of project stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits


The salary for this position is Transport Grade 7A($108,770) - 7E( $121,822) - per annum plus superannuation.
