We will count on you to:

The Reconciliation Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day management of a Reconciliation team across Pacific and GSD locations. This role centers on balancing operational responsibilities (exception management, team meetings, one-on-ones) with seeking and implementing process improvements and development opportunities.

The Reconciliation Team Leader is also responsible for reporting to the Reconciliation Manager and Reconciliation Leader on latest data insights, team achievements, incidents and any areas of concern. The Team Leader should also provide support on business and client projects, audit requests and End of Financial Year activities.

The Reconciliation Team Leader should ensure teams are fully integrated across locations. A Key KPI will be the successful and continual transfer of knowledge between locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day management of a Reconciliation team, including the associated GSD team:
  • Ensure work in team is completely accurately and efficiently; and team is operating within the KRI and Reconciliation Governance Framework
  • Build and promote a positive team culture, particularly one that fosters collaboration between Pacific and GSD colleagues, and collaboration between Reconciliation teams and other business segments (particularly Admin Ops)
  • Hold regular one-on-one catch ups with all team members and ensure individuals are meeting KPIs and conduct PfS discussions ensuring underperforming staff are managed appropriately
  • Hold regular team meetings to discuss daily plans, updates, feedback and process improvements
  • Provide day-to-day management of a Reconciliation team, including the associated GSD team:

  • Hold regular one-on-one catch ups with all team members and ensure individuals are meeting KPIs and conduct PfS discussions ensuring underperforming staff are managed appropriately
  • Hold regular team meetings to discuss daily plans, updates, feedback and process improvements
  • Identify development opportunities for staff and implement plans as appropriate
  • Provide regular (and ad hoc as required) reporting to the Reconciliation Manager, including KRI and achievements.
  • Highlight any areas of concern or opportunities for improvement to your manager.
  • Make process improvements in the Reconciliation team and through suggested improvements to Admin Ops processes
  • Training of new starters and other team members as required
  • Mentoring, both formal and informal
  • Provide support and expertise on Projects including Trintech implementation and fund transitions/SFTs
  • Drive #OneTeam focus, ensuring all colleagues are valued, agnostic of location.
  • Ensure direct and open lines of communication
  • Drive change and be an influential face of the Financial Operations Department

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Trintech implementation experience
  • Extensive operational knowledge and experience within financial services (5-7 years)
  • Experience leading a team to ensure workflow and resources are well managed
  • Experience with workflow management tools and methodologies
  • Experience working with DB clients
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • A champion for customer-centric servicing
  • A passionate people leader
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to drive team performance
  • Show initiative and enjoy working in a team environment
