We are currently seeking a driven Testing and Quality Manager to join us in the Digital Technology Delivery team within Information Technology. This integral role will ensure the testing and quality of various systems and applications within Swinburne, primarily through the planning, design, and execution of test plans, and through appropriate responses to the outcomes of those tests.

As the Testing and Quality Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring the frameworks and capability in place to assure the quality of Swinburne’s IT systems. You will deliver a program of work to uplift the testing and QA capability at Swinburne proposing tactical improvements aligned to a Service Improvement strategy and rolling out process and policy changes to deliver the strategy. You will also assess current testing processes and procedures, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions to address deficiencies.

This dynamic role will form part of the solution delivery function that oversees the effectiveness of agile delivery processes, with emphasis on testing, identifying opportunities for improvement. It is expected you will identify the benefits through planning process, and present the case for change to enable appropriate prioritisation.

You will report into the Director, Digital Technology Delivery and will support them, as a champion of continuous improvement, leading by influence to embed a culture of Continuous Improvement across Swinburne’s IT teams. The role is expected to work collaboratively with IT teams and stakeholders to improve service offering driving down the occurrence and impact of system outages, and enhancing our ability to maintain reliable IT services.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in a service management role requiring the ability to plan, coordinate, supervise, monitor and evaluate.
  • Demonstrated experience in testing, performing quality assurance, familiarity with testing tools for managing test scripts, automation, defect lifecycle management and change management
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing, developing, and implementing policy, ensuring adherence to standard processes and/or government legislation in a large, complex organisation
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and ability to influence key personnel on business practices and in embedding change

Qualifications
  • A degree level qualification in information technology, information systems, or equivalent
  • Relevant industry certification, such as ITIL Foundation (Preferable)
  • Significant experience in managing and developing the testing frameworks
