The National Library of Australia is seeking to fill the integral role of Program Manager, Collection Retrieval and Delivery (APS6) in the Reader Services Section in Engagement Branch.

This role is critical to the function of the Collection Retrieval and Delivery Team as it manages and rosters the team who collects and delivers items from the Library’s collections. These items could be used in research, digitisation, exhibitions or delivered to the reading rooms.

You will manage and support staff onsite and at the Library’s external warehouse locations. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the team including stock control, maintenance and regular liaison with other Library functions including the Reading Rooms and the Collection Storage Projects Team.

You will have a work health and safety focus when supporting your team. You will also consider business improvements across your areas of responsibility.

You will build and maintain excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships. And you will coach and lead your team to meet Service Charter timeframes.

To be successful in this vacant position, you must hold qualifications or equivalent experience in arts, humanities, social sciences or information management.

Experience in the provision of library services to the public would be an advantage.
