Position Description
The Labatt Family Heart Centre is recruiting a Summer Research Student within the Dept. of Cardiovascular Surgery, to assist in the collection of data associated with the International Fontan Registry (IFR) Project. This is a retrospective and prospective observational study, and the incumbent’s main role will involve collecting and entering clinical data into the registry database.
Here’s What You Will Get to Do:
- Extract data from medical records and clinical databases
- Sync databases where appropriate
- Identify missing data/gaps and help develop solutions or modifications
- Participate in weekly to biweekly meetings with the PI and other members of the team
- Work remotely, if desired, in discussion with the PI
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Currently pursing an undergraduate degree, ideally in Science or Health Sciences
- Experience working in clinical data extraction, familiarity with REDCap and/or Cardiology is considered an asset
- Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work with repetitive tasks
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and communications skills
