Pay Range: $20.20 - $23.23 per hour. Your hourly rate will be based on the year of study at school.

Contract up to 4 months

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster, and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

PAYMENTS Finance is looking for a CO-OP student to assist the team in accounting and financial performance management deliverables.

What will I be doing?

  • Supports business case financial modeling for various business intake projects and initiatives with a view to monitor and manage costs and inform performance management activities
  • Perform adhoc financial analysis to support strategic divisional business decisions
  • Supports ad-hoc deliverables and projects that may involve developing worksheet templates for analyses, updating process documentation/manuals, preparing power point slides, and working with various cross functional teams on initiatives.
  • Provides a variety of administrative and technical support which may include organizing, coordinating, and leading and team activities and initiatives
  • Recommends improvements to existing processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiency.

What skills & qualifications do I need?

  • Must be attending school full-time and returning to an academic institution
  • Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment
  • Enrolled in (Accounting, Finance, business or related discipline) at a post-secondary institution
  • Previous experience working within a business environment is preferred
  • Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Intermediate to advanced level of competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to co-operate and assist other co-workers with various projects
  • Interest in rail transportation and transit/operational planning is a strong asset
  • A willingness to learn while being exposed to a variety of business aspects of PAYMENTS division
