Operations Supervisor

Description:

Supervise the daily operation of a waste transfer station and Community Recycling Center.

This includes but is not limited to.

• Scheduling of staff weekly for the site.
• Tracking of all material leaving the site.
• Keeping a daily inventory / log of material on the site.
• Weekly and monthly inspections of the facility.
• Ensuring that staff keep the site in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Dealing with any customer issues that may arise.
• Approving hours and payroll for staff.
• Reporting any incidents
• Monthly safety meetings at the site.
• Every third Saturday rotate through all the sites as a supervisor.
• Working with different organizations at the same site.

Requirements:

• 3 years in union environment
• Basic computer skills (word, excel, outlook)
• Safety conscious

Assets but not required:

• Knowledge of waste industry.
• D.Z license or willing to upgrade.
• Front end loader experience or knowledge
• Some mechanical ability – diagnosing issues that require repair or maintenance.
• Safety training (ie. JHSC, MOL Supervisor awareness).
