The Police Administration Department requires a temporary full time CPIC Operator – Clerk to work at the RCMP Detachment, for approximately 1 year.
Responsibilities You will perform data entry and clerical work relative to the provision and receipt of information to and from the Canadian Police Information Centre. This will include entering, removing and verifying information on a police database. You will have the ability to work independently, performing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy, and exercise some judgment on the more routine aspects of the work.
Requirements You will have some related work experience, including clerical and data entry experience, and the ability to type at a net speed of 50 words per minute. Experience within a law enforcement environment would be an asset.
Compensation $26.34 to $30.94 per hour (Pay Grade 15 – January 2021 rates)
Hours of Work Any seven (7) consecutive hours exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule, with one scheduled day off each three-week scheduling cycle.
Additional Information You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment. For temporary full-time positions of 8 months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position. Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
