Position: Web Developer (NOC 21234) Hourly Wage: $39 Work Location : 1. Suite 300 - 1055 West Hastings St. Vancouver BC V6E 2E9 2. Suite 535 - 1515 W. 2nd Ave. Vancouver, BC V6J 5C5 Remote work: Up to 2 days per week Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time, 30 hours per week Vacation: 10 days paid vacation per year Detailed Job Duties: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement innovative web solutions for our incubated startups. Work closely with startup founders and teams to understand their unique requirements and tailor web solutions to meet their specific business objectives. Manage and maintain existing web applications, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience. Create and optimize website content, ensuring responsiveness, and seamless integration with various platforms. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into web development processes. Troubleshoot and resolve web-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime for our startups. Collaborate with graphic designers and other stakeholders to translate visual design concepts into functional web applications, ensuring a seamless and visually appealing user experience. Conduct regular website performance assessments, analyzing metrics and implementing improvements to enhance site speed, accessibility, and overall performance. Assist in the development and maintenance of databases and server-side applications that support web functionality. Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate and optimize web content for various digital marketing channels, ensuring consistency in brand messaging. Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, adherence to coding standards, and efficient collaboration within the development team. Provide technical support and training to internal teams and startups on website functionalities and best practices. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or college diploma in computer science, computer programming, web development or software engineering or a related field. Minimum one year work experience as a Web Developer Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web development languages. Solid understanding of responsive web design principles. Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and e-commerce platforms. Familiarity with SEO best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
