Our client, who is a world leader in the manufacturing of automation is looking to hire for Quality Technician for the day and afternoon shifts based in Cambridge, ON

In this role, one will be responsible for support and improvement of the Low Voltage Drives and Printed Circuit Board manufacturing operations. This includes daily line support providing issue resolution, quality planning, process audits, and proactive continuous improvement activities to ensure quality levels meet internal and external customer expectations. Assist/support the Quality Engineers by providing production expertise to resolve quality issues within the production operation. Ensure that the product meets the customerâs requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary taking corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues. Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBLITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
⢠Assist the Quality Engineer in providing support to Operations Associates in Drives assembly and PCBA assembly areas.
⢠Provide technical support as necessary to production line regarding quality related issues
⢠Inspect and auditing of products throughout the manufacturing process as planned
⢠Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and ensure issues are addressed and resolved
⢠Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001)
⢠Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality
⢠Attend and report at regular improvement meetings, providing secure preventative actions to external and internal quality related concerns
⢠Ensure all incidents of non-conformance are recorded
⢠Assist the Quality Engineer with new product introduction
⢠Carry out internal audits of other departments
⢠Undertake special projects as required
⢠Support and participate in process improvement activities
⢠Be aware and work to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
⢠Participate in root cause analysis and resolving problems
⢠Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
⢠Perform other duties as assigned.
⢠Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles and support other job families as required.
⢠May be required to assist, instruct and provide training to other employees.
⢠Participates in activities to increase job knowledge, including required training and certifications, job rotation programs and training and coaching of other employees.
⢠Participate in Behavioural Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
⢠Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contributes by making recommendations for applicable product or process improvements for manufacturability of the produced parts and products.
⢠Performs work in accordance with job -specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
⢠Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Company's values, ethics, policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
⢠Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
⢠All other duties as required and assigned by supervision

Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education
SKILLS:
⢠In depth knowledge of assembly and wiring process
⢠Problem solving
⢠Use MS word to modify written instructions, i.e., Cambridge Specific Procedures (CSPs) and Documented Work Instructions (DWIs)
⢠Utilizing a computer to investigate defect related job information, i.e., SAP, FTPC
⢠Self-directed in a team environment
⢠Safe use of manual tools and, power tools and machinery
⢠Demonstrate proficiency of assigned tasks, duties, and responsibilities required to achieve customer satisfaction, including but not limited to SAP, Factory Talk and Kronos.
⢠Engage in and anticipate the activities necessary to meet the changing needs of the business, with the highest possible level of efficiency.
⢠Produces results in a product and or service that conforms to valid specifications, is free of defects, strives to reduce variation of the process and adds value for our customers.
⢠Demonstrates understanding and supports company values, policies, and standards of business.
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:
⢠Level 3: 2 Years Related Experience
⢠Technical diploma in related field
PREREQUISITE:
⢠2 years of assembly/wiring experience
⢠Able to perform the duties and responsibilities of an In-Process Inspector 2P.
