Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool and golf course. There is also an excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

DISTRIBUTION SUPERVISOR

Job Summary:

To plan, oversee and coordinate daily railyard and distribution activities and support function to deliver quality customer service and ensure standard operating procedures are met. The incumbent will be responsible for the following;

• Plan and coordinate movement of trains and wagons within the station in accordance with the operational and company business requirements.
• Ensure control of operations by effectively managing and coordinating loading and offloading of wagons as well as movement of road trucks.
• Scheduling staff members’ shifts according to workload demands and customer traffic patterns.
• Coordinate defined administration services and ensure customer concerns and issues are resolved timely and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and client satisfaction.
• Inspect wagons and locomotives in line with standard operating procedures.
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure that products are delivered on time and ensuring that inventory levels are monitored and maintained.
• Adheres to SHEQ policies, procedures, and standards in area of responsibility.
• Proposes cost saving initiatives in area of responsibility and mange approved budgets.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration or related discipline with a post-graduate qualification in Logistics management/Economics.
• 5 years post-qualification experience, three [3] of which should have been at a supervisory level in a commercial or business environment.
• Railyard experience is a distinct advantage, and a railyard operation certificate is a statutory requirement
• Valid Driver’s license.

Requirements
