  • Has responsibility for stowing assigned vessels safely whilst optimizing utilization and efficiency of the operation.

  • Optimizes vessel stowage to ensure vessels can lift maximum cargo volume, with minimum operational expenses.
  • Sending the completed plans to terminal once approved by vessel prior dateline and checking pre-plans from terminal before cargo operations.
  • Coordinate with terminal constantly on the plans, if any changes required or special cargo restrictions followed as per company policy
  • Works closely with Capacity management functions to ensure correct cargo is prioritized and all parties are aware of unutilized capacity (roll overs)
  • Work closely with terminal to improve CI for better executional productivity.
  • Ability to work on shift rotation 24/7 on site at Tanjung Pelepas & cover Hub Execution during night shifts.
  • Creating awareness and drive for additional that can be loaded based on historical loadings.
  • Ad Hoc projects together with Stowage Managers to drive process improvements, utilization, and cost savings.
  • Having ownership to upkeep guidelines, stowage templates and terminal/ vessels restrictions
  • Function requires contact with a broad range of internal parties (Line Management, Finance, Country Operations) and external parties (including Masters, Terminals, Agents, and other service providers)
  • Incumbent must be a Team player and able to work odd hours independently.
We are looking for
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in stowage planning.
  • Strong in time management, agile and thrive in a dynamic environment, where flexible work hours will be required to accommodate vessel schedule.
  • Incumbent is required to monitor function on a 24/7 basis with off days and react pro-actively at all hours.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication.
  • A good communicator and a strong team player, as they will have the opportunity to be in the entire flow of operations and coordinate with various stakeholders across various cultures and backgrounds daily.
  • You need to be self-driven, have sense of urgency to get things done, able to drive service performance results.
  • Technical or functional knowledge of Stowage Planning system like Powerstow and stability program an added advantage. You will need to possess sound knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
