Job Description


Lead and manage assigned programs & projects to manage delivery of a portfolio of projects to the achievement of strategic and business outcomes, within budget and in line with client expectations & scope ) as well as quality standards and practices. Serve as a liaison between multiple teams to ensure the program goals for the client and for Experian are met. Support, lead, and coach the project teams with respects to planning, communication and project control and execution.

Successful candidates will have extensive experience in program management and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders. They will have excellent knowledge and extensive experience of project and program management methodology and tools including risk management, stakeholder management, change management and issue management.

  • Manage programs and support project delivery teams to achieve business outcomes delivering to the managed baseline
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, acts as liaison between stakeholders, sponsors and steering committee and manages these relationships
  • Establish and maintain cross-divisional communication networks to share learning.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve problems.
  • Conduct regular program reviews and produce updates as per agreed governance process.
  • Control scope of programs.
  • Complete timely and accurately the required internal and external program reporting (including time spent and cost).
  • Track against cost, schedules or statements of work and advise the risk and work on mitigation.
  • Ensure to all Technology project delivery and governance processes and procedures are adhered to for all projects including those within the program
  • Define program requirements by thoroughly researching available alternatives when a concept is assigned.
  • Use business knowledge and experience and contact all relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify required resources and request type of resource from relevant resource pools. Negotiate and acquire agreed resource (e.g. people, hardware, processing time) to enable timely project delivery.
  • Effective use of allocated resource to produce deliverables.
  • Conduct post-implementation review and make provision for ongoing support.
  • Conduct and report on post program budget review, actual versus forecast.
  • Prepare, negotiate, monitor, and control budget of assigned programs to ensure expenditure is in line with agreed business case.
  • Identify, resolve, and monitor project issues and risks
  • Provide individual performance assessment of project management staff and provide coaching and feedback to promote professional growth. May participate in the applicant interviewing process and make hiring recommendations.
  • Develop and compose business cases to support the acquisition or development of critical project components or strategic initiatives.
  • Lead enterprise wide programs consisting of multiple projects of work or multiple projects with varying complexity.
  • Contribute strongly as part of a cross functional delivery team.
  • Support colleagues.
  • Coordinates inter-project dependencies, including those with projects outside of the program.
  • Indirectly guides project management staff in the development, monitoring, update and execution of plans for business unit projects including cross-functional communication, financial analysis, resource planning and allocation, risk management planning, budget management and change control.
  • Actively seek to share knowledge within the team and share findings with peers from other teams and management where required.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain program management best practices. Ensure post program reviews are completed and recommendations made for improvement.
  • Ensure that post project lessons are recognized, documented, and circulated to enable us to capitalize on each project experience where appropriate.
  • Strong and current awareness of external trends and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels of the organisation, project, program and business unit
  • Development maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including commercial, delivery and local and regional leadership teams
  • Demonstrate leadership to coach and manage the assigned project teams
  • Work with business partners to define the pipeline of initiatives and prioritise them in line with customer and business unit objectives
  • Be an advocate for the program.
  • Routinely Supervises and mentors others in the PM team.
  • Works under general direction. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
  • Escalates any risks/issues in an appropriate and timely manner.

Experience

  • Program management experience
  • Routinely takes ownership in solving project problems in creative and effective ways. Duties and tasks are varied and often complex within the boundaries of the project
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of enterprise and complex programs from initiation through to full program acceptance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Project Management Professional qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL)
