Get to know the Team

  • The Malaysia Safety team supports Grab’s business verticals and operations in Malaysia and is responsible for all safety-related aspects of the platform. This team drives initiatives to improve User Safety (consumers, driver/delivery partners, merchants) for crime, accidents, and food safety/hygiene by developing tech products, policies, frameworks, communications and training and sharpening internal processes.

As a team, we also help influence the company's overall strategic direction by supporting the top management with safety insights and advice.

Get to know the Role

  • You will maintain the database for safety-related incidents and develop actionable insights based on observed trends/analysis. These insights will influence policies and processes to improve user safety. You will also have the opportunity to work with cross-functional and country teams to execute projects around maintaining high safety and quality standards for Grab users.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

  • You are responsible for monitoring safety incidents which involve investigating, summarising, tracking, analysing and presenting safety trends.

  • You will also work with cross-functional teams to execute initiatives identified through audits and post-analysis on process improvements and product rollouts

  • You will support the team in operationalising new technological, and product developments rolled out to enhance the safety of our users.

The Must-Haves

  • Possess at least a quantitative Bachelor’s Degree and up to three (3) years of professional working experience in solid quantitative and analytics roles.

  • High level of accuracy in all work with excellent attention to detail.

  • Proven track record of conceiving, documenting and implementing new processes.

  • The breadth of thought to assist the team in developing complex policies and procedures with minimal guidance to prevent and mitigate safety risks.

  • The ability to analyse and present data comprehensively and accurately, with the drive to execute actionable findings.

  • Highly adaptable and independent with changing needs in a minimally structured, fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets is a MUST. This includes proficiency in tools to analyse large data sets (e.g. pivot tables). Knowledge of SQL, Tableau or other BI tools will be a plus.

  • Self-motivated to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
