The Role Responsibilities

Job Summary

  • To ensure all daily task are completed before the deadline given. Enclosed is the Desk Instruction.
  • Key responsibilities cover both SCBMB and its subsidiaries and associate companies including SCSB.

Strategy

  • Assist units in project implementation.

Business

  • Review all the necessity of stationeries or other items only on a need basis.

Processes

  • All task execution or completion is according to the Desk Instructions (DOI) and relevant policy.

People and Talent

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people.

Risk Management

  • The ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the firm. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the firm and the role the individual plays in managing them.
  • The ability to interpret the firm’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

Governance

  • The ability to assess the effectiveness of the firm’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Ability to deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • To assist Hub whenever there are issues arising or reconciliation breaks on ROMS Reporting.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Lead the Country and FMO to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Bank Negara Malaysia and MY Securities Commission.

Internal

  • Country Finance Division, Human Resources Division, Standard Chartered Saadiq, Legal and Compliance Division, Group Technology Division, ARMS and Credit Operations, Branch staff, Dealers and Regional Auditors, GPCW, DAU,GRH Chennai, FMO_CC Group offices, SCB branches and subsidiaries and GBS KL and Chennai.

External

  • Markets personnel from other banks and dealing centers, Central Bank Regulators, Vendors of machines, stationery and External Auditors

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in FMO
  • Relief Duties or any other duties as and when assigned by the manager
  • Participating in BCP exercise in managing operational resilience by assesses interconnections / end to end process flow between the systems and processes (as per BCP plan)

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in Liquidity Management Operations
  • Familiar with SWIFT RENTAS operations and BNM guidelines on payments and settlements
  • Familiar with BNM FAST system and its operations
  • Familiar with Bond origination process flow and operations
  • Possess sound understand of operation risks in general
  • Familiar with BNM i-Link and RENTAS PORTAL
  • Familiar with operation of SCB eBBS will be an advantage
