The Legal Manager will be responsible for providing legal support through advisory work and review of documentation to business units and banking operations in relation to daily operations as well as ad hoc projects. This includes support in relation to review and drafting of transactional and product documentation as well as commercial contracts (non-IT and/or IT related contracts). This role reports to the Head of Legal and the successful candidates will be based in Damansara City office. Key Responsibilities: *Providing sound legal advice, guidance and support to various business and operational units within the Bank (i.e. corporate banking, real estate matters, IT related matters etc). *Reviewing and drafting various documentation – commercial contracts, loan documentation, product, marketing collaterals, etc. *Active project support through provision of legal advice. *To multi-task effectively when meeting with conflicting deadlines and multiple demands. *To ensure well-considered opinions are rendered so as to ensure the organization & interests are protected from a legal perspective. *To provide guidance and awareness to the operating units on potential legal issues. Job Requirements: Education/Qualification *Malaysian citizen *A law graduate from a reputable university with at least 10 years PQE and with solid experience in general practice with an established legal firm in Malaysia handling portfolios in any one or more relevant areas such as banking, conveyancing, corporate finance or restructuring and/or in-house corporate counsel with working knowledge in related areas of banking and financial services in Malaysia. Experience & Skillsets *Candidates from the IT and/or Technology industry with experience in reviewing and drafting IT related contracts will be an added advantage. *Must have a strong academic record with good analytical and research skills as well as a keen eye for detail. *Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Factors for Success: *Effective communicator and applies a commercially savvy approach to legal matters. *Independent self-starter and team player with good interpersonal skills willing to cover a broad spectrum of work and to assist in establishing improved processes. *Strong commercial sense and ability to make practical evaluations of risks.
