Job Description

The Managing director participates in all managerial decisions which includes but to limited to the following; guides the operation of the diagnostic center ranging from selection of staff, choice of methods, purchase of equipment, quality assurance, quality control, marketing plans, safety, hours of operation, scheduling of staff, and utilization management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategic direction of the overall General business including all operational aspects of the business
  • Manage the number of activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance, and medical protocol
  • Act as an expert in dealings with vendors and non-medical facilities that work within and outside the organization.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the long term 3yr+ business plan.
  • Manages the profitability of the business (bottom line responsibility).
  • Manages risk and compliance.
  • Manages external relationships and influences industry bodies.
  • Drive Stakeholder and shareholder value by :
  • o Optimizing economic & industry value add

    o Oversee overall capital Assets

    o Control Capital expenditure

    o Revenue & reserves by putting in place budgetary structures & financial strategies for the organization as a whole.

  • Assuming full accountability for the board for all company operations
  • Identify new potential customers / clients and supervise sales points to increase the company revenue
  • He / she will work closely with the executive management team to implement strategies that enhance patient care and improve revenue.

  • Ensures clean audit risk and compliance reports.

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Manages external relationships and influences industry bodies.
  • Strategy Implementation

  • Sets direction for a significant company at a strategic and tactical level and develops and takes accountability for a business plan which is aligned to the Country strategy.
  • Develops strategy in collaboration with Product specialists integrating the different channel contributions and aligning their respective value propositions to maximise market share
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a flexible yet sustainable and appropriate organisational architecture for the Organisation.
  • Develops growth strategy and sets aggressive performance targets that result in increased sales and reduced operating losses.
  • Functional Effectiveness

  • The incumbent is accountable for achieving results through comprehensive business management.
  • Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications : MBBS or Bachelors degree in Public Health
  • MBA / MPH is an added advantage
  • Minimum Executive Experience :
  • 10-15 years ' experience in a hospital administration role
