About the role:

The APS 6 FOI Delegate (Labour Hire) will, under limited direction, assist the team in the coordination of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets its legal obligations.

The role will perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team. It will also contribute to the development of the Agency’s information handling requirements. The position will, under limited supervision, manage relationships with a range stakeholders within the business.

Duties

• Managing the priorities of clients and available resources to deliver results on time and within budget.
• Mentoring and supporting, where necessary, FOI Action Officers to ensure timely processing of FOI requests.
• Supporting the development of systems, processes and practical tools including delivering training to support handling and awareness.

Required experience/skills

• Demonstrated ability to make decisions under Freedom of Information legislation in relation to requests for access to documents.
• Proven experience managing demanding and changing workloads and competing priorities.
• Highly developed communication (written and verbal) skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Have a keen eye for detail, with a high degree of self-motivation to prioritise and complete tasks within specified timeframes.
• Thrive in a busy workplace with multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
• Exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
