About the role:

The EL2 Director Finance (Professional Stream) is accountable under broad direction to undertake work with a high level of complexity or sensitivity that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the agency.

It is an important team leadership position within the agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging financial activities of substantial depth involving significant complexity. It will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision-making for the team membership and assigned contractors working within the positions assigned work area.

The EL2 Director Finance (Professional Stream) will exercise a significant degree of independence and will use a high level of decision-making and judgement. It will coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects and work program outcomes across the functions that have strategic or operational significance to the Agency

Duties

• Maintaining sound knowledge and understanding of the core financial functions to provide high level
• advice to management, Executive Leadership Team and the Board
• Influencing and developing financial strategies, policies, priorities and operational practices.
• Overseeing and preparing a range of written material including various briefs, reports, discussion
• papers, and providing significant input to the agency's Financial Strategic Plan
