Position Summary

Under Armour, Europe is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team based in our beautiful office in Amsterdam. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, passionate, flexible, and focused individual to join a high-quality Finance team.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to assist in the accurate and timely processing of various accounting functions for Under Armour Europe BV and its various subsidiaries, as well as to develop and maintain robust accounting controls and processes.

This is a hands-on role and duties will include the preparation of compliance filing responsibilities, booking of journal entries, as well as the reconciliation and review of key account balances. The accountant will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to

• Perform accounting functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, bookkeeping, reviewing financial information, preparing and posting journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Assist with annual account preparation and various audit inquiries
• Liaise with 3rd party providers in regions on the preparation and audit of the Statutory Accounts of UA Europe subsidiaries.
• Work directly with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate and timely bookings.
• Actively participate in month-end closing cycle and partner with FP&A to maintain accurate bookkeeping
• Assist the Senior Manager Accounting in developing and implementing robust internal accounting controls, including detailed standard operating procedures for all accounting activities.
• Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required.
• Other ad hoc duties deemed necessary by the Senior Manager Accounting, Europe.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) including but not limited to

• Attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
• Familiarity with corporate financial accounting systems (SAP experience preferred)
• Fluency in English is a must, while another European language is also an advantage

Education And / Or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline
• 2+ years working in a corporate accounting environment. Consideration will also be given to a suitably qualified person looking to make their first move into the industry from practice
