Your role

As a Senior Compliance Officer, you will be part of the Organisational & Personal Integrity team and report to the manager of the team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the periodic and event-driven systematic integrity risk analysis (SIRA) with all FMO business lines.
  • Contributing to the internal control framework of Compliance, identifying, monitoring, and testing key controls in the compliance domain.
  • Contributing to the risk awareness and control environment of Compliance by conducting/facilitating risk control self-assessments, updating compliance risk appetite statements, and contributing to the root-cause analyses of risk events.
  • Taking part in compliance-related projects with various other stakeholders.
  • Providing compliance trainings (face to face, groups) on topics within your field of expertise, thereby raising risk awareness and sharing knowledge.
  • Contributing to the update of the compliance framework (policies and procedures).
  • Advising senior management and staff on Compliance related topics.

We offer a competitive gross annual compensation of EUR 90K – 110K (including holiday allowance), based on your experience. Your team

The Compliance department (± 18 FTE) supports the FMO organization in ensuring and demonstrating sound and controlled business conduct. The Compliance department of FMO stands for providing proactive advice on a variety of Compliance topics and supports FMO organization to ensure that FMO operates in line with (the spirit of) relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and within its integrity risk tolerance. The department is divided into two teams: Customer Integrity and Organisational & Personal Integrity.

The Compliance Organisational & Personal Integrity team (± 8 FTE) is a team that consists of (Senior) compliance officers working on regulatory change management, compliance monitoring and reporting, training and awareness, as well as subject matter experts in the field of organizational and personal integrity (e.g., market abuse and conflicts of interest).

Your background

We are looking for someone who is highly committed and driven to excel and has knowledge and experience of Dutch law and regulations. You are proactive, critical pragmatic and solution oriented. You are used to communicate in a clear and professional way considering different stakeholder perspectives and being a true sparring partner. You have experience working in an international context and can build connections within and outside the team. You are able to oversee and work from the bigger picture perspective and are able to switch quickly to detail level and vice versa. In addition, you are willing to invest in yourself and to share knowledge within and outside the team.

The required educational background/experience, characteristics, and skills are:

  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Law, Economics, or Business Administration, as well as demonstrated expertise in Compliance law and regulations in Dutch context.
  • At least 8 years of relevant compliance experience in the Dutch financial industry, preferably within a bank.
  • Fluent in English in writing and verbally.
  • Sufficient knowledge of SIRA and working with internal control frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in an international work environment.
  • Skilful in delivering the message and taking others along at the highest echelons.
  • Helpful and supporting other colleagues within the team, where needed.
  • Highest integrity and ethical standards.
