About this opportunity

As a Media Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day acquisition and media management of content. This could be managing MAM workflows, Lines Records, Content QC and being a point of contact for our clients and internal departments. It means being part of a team that delivers a high-quality service to the client/s, ensuring that equipment and systems function effectively, and that any performance shortfalls are escalated effectively and ultimately resolved. In this role, it is crucial to ensure that communication both within and from the team is always effective in promoting the business and moving it forward.


What you will do
  • Recording, ingest and managing media required by Playout, Access Services, and VOD
  • Ensuring ingested media is ready for playout and the original technical quality of the media is not lost.
  • Monitoring and optimizing the technical process of preparation, playout, and post-processing, to make content of an agreed technical quality available in time for distribution to various playout platforms and storage.
  • Supervising correct monitoring of systems and the playout process
  • Ensuring all associated media (metadata) such as subtitles, separate audio sources and in-vision sign language are correctly ingested onto server.
  • High level of accuracy – Both on spotting quality control issues with media and with handling lines bookings and scheduling recordings
  • To check Outside Source (OS) availability and record live incoming material (e.g., studios or outside broadcasts) to server for later playout.
  • To quality check material and report faults where required, according to specific guidelines laid down by clients.
  • Trouble-shooting technical issues and escalation of faults to relevant teams.
  • Knows when to escalate problems to the correct party and takes an active role in managing its resolution.
  • Demonstrable experience of steering or directing effort during and after a serious system outage.
  • Consulting with the client with regards to problem material and attending regular routines to ensure that Red Bee Media’s service is paramount.
  • User acceptance testing and fault logging
  • Team training and communication


You will bring
Technical skills:
  • In-depth experience of using ingest automation systems.
  • A detailed understanding of the wider Media Services architecture.
  • Experience of troubleshooting complex problems within broadcast systems.
  • Experience of developing new generic processes and adapting them where necessary.
  • Applies sound logical judgement to resolve technical problems even if they have little prior experience of the problem context.


Operational Judgement:


  • Co-ordinate and prioritise work considering service level agreements with stakeholders/customers and transmission requirements.
  • Shows resilience in challenging situations.
  • Adept at prioritising their own and their team’s workload.
  • Good attention to detail.


Training:


  • Good documentation skills to describe new processes concisely.
  • Can devise a simple training plan for new starters.
  • Is vigilant to the training needs of the team and individuals and can act appropriately.
  • Is proficient at correctly communicating complex technical concepts or faults in an easily digestible way to the team.
  • Can identify subtle trends in system failures and can document them for use by the technical teams.
  • Has experience of testing broadcast systems from an operator’s perspective.
  • Keep operational reference works such as manuals and work instructions up to date.


Communication:


  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience of leading initiatives around communication which move the operation forward, help client relations and build within a team.
  • Dealing with client queries with a calm and controlled approach.
  • Good decision making under pressure.
  • Ability to advise internal team effort effectively.
  • Is adept at managing Media Services’ client expectations in a positive manner.
  • Experience of building good relationships with internal and external parties to work multi-functionally and achieve client service or Media Services department goals.
  • Performs reporting and administrative work, within the applicable guidelines, aimed at timely and correct accountability to customers and financial settlement.
  • Strong IT skills
