About the Company: Our client is a global organisation with NZ manufacturing facilities in NZ comprising around 50 staff. These staff operate across two sites in Tauranga and Christchurch.

About the role: Fixed Term position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months. This HR Generalist role includes Recruitment responsibilities and ER guidance and support. We expect the Fixed Term will run to April 2024 to allow for handover. As the sole NZ based HR person, you will work closely with Site and Operations Leads, as well as your Australian counterparts to effectively deliver HR and Recruitment services to the business.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Provide HR advice and administration support
  • Provide sourcing advice and end to end recruitment services
  • Employment documentation and onboarding of new employees
  • Assist with reporting for NZ operations
  • Maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Assist in the delivery of training and development

Start Date: As soon as possible to allow for training and handover.

Days/ Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About You: Ideally you will be an Intermediate level HR Generalist, who is well versed with NZ Employment legislation, and confident in providing HR advice and support. To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in HR, and previous experience in an HR Generalist role
  • Self motivated with the ability to self manage and work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • Ability to confidently facilitate meetings
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Attention to detail

Ideally you will also have previous experience working within an industrial/ blue collar environment, and dealing with Collectives, Unions and unionised sites.
This role also requires flexibility with hours, and regular air travel will be required.
