Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team

Te Puna Hanganga, Matihiko - Infrastructure and Digital - Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga - Ministry of Education, leads inclusive, accessible and integrated national, digital and physical infrastructure and transport services to the education system.

You will join the Web Services team. We develop learning environments and digital platforms that are critical to quality teaching and learning. These have the potential to provide accessible, inclusive places, spaces and platforms where ākonga and whānau feel that they belong and where their identity, language and culture can be supported.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

The Ministry of Education has an exciting secondment opportunity for a Web Advisor to join the Ministry's Web Services Team.

You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the portfolio of existing web products. You will also help provide expertise and advice within the team and across the business to enable the Ministry to be the best of class in the digital space.

Salary range: $67,859 - $82,939 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

Mōhou ake | About you

To be successful in this role, you will most importantly have passion for anything web and digital.

You will also ideally offer:

Appreciation and knowledge of the relevance of the New Zealand Government Web Accessibility and Usability Standards

  • An understanding of digital content, including web accessibility, SEO and usability
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, at both a technical level and a general business level
  • Prior experience managing content using content management systems, ideally Drupal and SilverStripe
