We seek a reliable and motivated Receptionist to join our fun, collaborative, high-performing teams. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality, client-focused services for both Career Development and Employability Services (CDES) and Campus Life. This position offers variety and challenge, with plenty of development opportunities.

CDES assists students and graduates in developing their capabilities to successfully self-manage and navigate their world of work, life, and learning. This helps them realise their potential, contribute positively to local, national, and global communities, and move towards a personally determined and evolving future.

Campus Life is a Service Division that supports an engaging and inclusive campus experience for students at the University of Auckland. It operates various well-being services, such as Accommodation, Counselling, and Health Services, to remove personal barriers to academic success. It also operates engagement services such as support for student organisations, social and sporting programs, volunteering, and leadership support.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Being the first point of contact for staff, students, and visitors to KEIC Level one (Campus Life and Career Development & Employability Services).
  • Being able to “think on your feet” when responding to enquiries from staff, students, and the public.
  • Ability to prioritise and escalate issues as required.
  • Providing administrative support as required.

The salary range for this role is $46,300 - $50,500 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, permanent role.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for:

  • A positive person with outstanding interpersonal skills to provide professional and customer-focused reception services.
  • Previous experience in a reception or customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and a good standard of computer literacy are required.
  • You will also be well organised and systematic and have excellent time management skills.
  • Previous experience in administration, software, office systems, and processes is advantageous.

While some daily responsibilities will provide a certain amount of predictability, some will require quick-thinking, prioritisation and sound decision-making to manage day-to-day issues as they arise effectively.
