Process Specialist – PlaceMakers New Zealand

  • Exciting opportunity to take your next step in Process Management
  • Work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
  • Permanent, fulltime role based in our Penrose office with WFH options

Help us build New Zealand! PlaceMakers is New Zealand's leading and largest supplier of building materials to New Zealand’s commercial and residential construction markets. We employ more than 2,400 people in over 70 locations across the country and stock more than 100,000 product lines from concrete to paint and plasterboard.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced thought leader to make a real impact in our business in this role, where you’ll be responsible for designing, building and implementing our Way of Working in consultation with the Continuous Improvement Manager and the wider Operations team of the business. The Way of Working document will have elements such as standard task listings, process maps, and current vs optimal operational standards, which will maximise our workforce capability and productivity for our Branch network. With an understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodology, you’ll apply this to enabling improvement and sustainability.
You’ll partner with the Branch management, Regional Change & Adoption teams, and the Continuous Improvement Manager to implement the new Way of Working and manage change though training toolkits, documentation and ongoing support. You’ll evaluate the current business practices and build standard operating practices, to facilitate the implementation of the new Way of Working. You will undertake process audits for our branches, deliver the plan and gain agreement on the action points from all key stakeholders.
Your process mindset and strong relationship skills will prove invaluable, as you collaborate with your team and your peers, as well as building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. Success in this role is about having a solutions-focused and customer-centric approach, and a collaborative style of work. This role would suit a person who has previously had experience in the trade and retail industries, and experience in an SAP environment would be beneficial.
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Placemakers is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for training and career development, plus company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.
Applications close on Sunday, 16th April 2023
(unless the role is filled sooner).
Please note:
  • A valid NZ drivers licence is required
  • A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
  • You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role

We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
