Intermediate Structural Engineer - (Full time & Fixed Term Contract)

The opportunity

Beca has 270 structural engineers throughout New Zealand that lead and support projects of national significance that improve the standard of living in our communities. You will be joining a well-established and diverse team of structural engineers, building on our track record of delivering some of New Zealand’s most significant and transformational projects.

We are looking for intermediate structural engineers to join our Wellington structural team and grow our project capability to deliver the strong forward workload that we have currently and growth beyond. Apply principles and professional knowledge and judgement to plan and implement projects of reasonable complexity.

  • Apply principles and professional knowledge and judgement to plan and implement residential projects of reasonable complexity.

  • Provide technical design advice for structures and multi-disciplinary projects of reasonable complexity.
  • Build and foster internal and external relationships that lead to repeat business.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, networking, and consulting skills.

About you

You are a qualified structural engineer with a passion for design and problem-solving. You have gained your design experience through working on residential or commercial building structures. You will have an inquisitive mind, the ability to problem solve, and the ability to think laterally. You are a team player and have experience working with other project disciplines. How you work is also important to us; we will value your enthusiasm, positive attitude, and adaptability to new things. You will also be working towards (or have already secured) professional certification or registration with the relevant industry body.
