Auckland Council’s Mayoral Office is looking for an Executive Assistant to join the Mayoral office. This is a niche opportunity with great political exposure.



Your mahi will include:

  • Diary coordination for the Chief of Staff, as well as for the Head of Communications and Government Relations
  • Executive administration and secretarial support for the Mayoral office
  • Managing disruptions and raising issues to minimise impact, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve relevant office management systems
  • Ensuring the Chief of Staff is fully informed on priority issues, researching, and preparing background material where necessary.


You report to and work closely with the Head of Communication and Government Relations to provide basic support as needed for the effective function of the team.

This role requires strong experience working in an executive administration space, from within large, complex organisations.


We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Accurate typing speed of 70 words per minute
  • Familiarity with sensitive information in complex settings
  • Intermediate to advanced skills across the Microsoft Suite
  • Working in diverse settings and applying the concepts and language of accessibility and inclusiveness

This role has a salary range of 75-85k annual remuneration.
Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
