What will you be doing?

Are you a talented finance professional looking for a challenging opportunity to lead and grow in the finance industry?

Tower is a dynamic and growing insurance organisation and we are seeking a Technical Finance Lead to join our team on a 6 months fixed term contract to cover parental leave. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented and supportive team while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.

You can expect to be across the following:

  • Support the implementation of upcoming regulatory, compliance and system changes that impact our core processes by leading the finance work stream - including accounting standard changes, IFRS 17 system implementation, reinsurance system implementation, solvency standard changes and system decommissioning. You'll play a key role in the IFRS 17 implementation project as the Finance subject matter expert.
  • Preparation of financial statement disclosures for new accounting standards.
  • Providing a finance perspective on new accounting partnership projects, including preparation of technical memos for the accounting treatment and process documentation.
  • Support accounting treatment assessment for significant transactions including preparation of technical memos and preparation of accounting disclosures.

What you'll need

You will have a keen eye for detail to ensure that financial statements and reports are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will have excellent communication skills to explain complex financial information to stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • CA qualification is preferred.
  • Strong experience in business analysis, change management and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP and/or the insurance industry would be an advantage.
  • A strong level of general accounting knowledge and IFRS.
  • Ability to thrive in and foster a culture of accepting and being prepared for change.
