Barnardo's has expressed a commitment to supporting families from the Ukraine as they arrive and settle in the UK. Barnardo's Scotland is creating a dedicated team of Project Workers across Scotland to ensure a coordinated response. There will be at least 6 Project Workers (open to either part or full-time applicants) and a bank of as and when Project Worker staff. Training and support will be offered and it is essential that applicants come with a good working knowledge of the potential experiences of families arriving in Scotland; trauma informed response and a genuine desire to enable them to settle and thrive whilst living here.
Post holders will link closely with their identified Barnardo's Locality team. These are:
- Edinburgh and Lothians
- Greater Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire
- Fife and Tayside
- North of Scotland
- Forth Valley and South West Scotland (Ayrshire, Dumfries and
Galloway) - Lanarkshire and West of Scotland (Argyll and Bute, Inverclyde,
Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire)
