My name is Philip O’Brien, and I am leading the Procurement team in Svitzer Europe.
I am looking for a procurement specialist, who enjoys sourcing goods and services. You will join our team and ensure a smooth Procure-to-Pay process for our fleet of tugboats in the south of the UK. This position provides a unique opportunity to become part of our international team and to make a measurable difference by covering a part of our largest fleet in Europe.
Join Svitzer and become part of an exciting, market leading, and vibrant company within the maritime industry. Working within our Procurement team you will be part of a team of engaged and driven individuals that are known to help and support each other. We are located across Europe.

You will be part of a truly international organization constantly striving for improving the total costs of ownership of all our assets. The role is based in Gravesend, Southeast UK.
The key task is to ensure that the tugboats have everything they need for their operation. What this means on practice are several things:
Procure-to-pay process (process purchase requisitions, conduct RFQs, determine suppliers, place purchase orders, ensure the goods are delivered and receipted and the invoices get paid)
Comply with global and regional frame agreements
Support the operations under time pressure
Conduct minor category management and sourcing activities
Communicate with stakeholders onshore and offshore and provide guidance on procurement processes and proper system usage
Who we are looking for
Eagerness to learn, not being afraid of complexity and ambiguity
Proven track record from an academic degree
Experience in maritime industry or in procurement is a plus
Ability to work under pressure
Fluency in verbal and written English
Excellent communication skills
Strong independent drive to achieve success in your role
We want to see that you are a good match, so kindly attach a motivational letter to your application outlining what you bring to this role as soon as possible.
