Are you seeking a new challenging opportunity w.you can be involved in responding to incidents and events across Greater Manchester’s transport network?

The Operational Control Centre (OCC) are.to manage disruption and serious incidents across the transport network, from managing traffic signals to managing significant issues on buses and trams. The team are responsible for overseeing activity on the entire Greater Manchester transport network 24/7. It’s a fast paced, exciting environment to work in w.every shift is different.


Your role


As a Control Centre Officer you’ll work to tight deadlines and targets to support the OCC in delivering swift and efficient incident management, particularly focusing on enhancing customer journeys and supporting incident response with our transport partners. You will be responsible for monitoring the multi modal transport network using various systems, including journey planners, CCTV and traffic management tools. You will identify issues and provide timely interventions to keep traffic and transport moving. You’ll be expected to liaise with confidently with senior stakeholders, compile reports and be responsible for corporate escalation for significant issues.


You be required to work on a shift rota basis with your colleagues providing 24 hours coverage 7 days a week. We operate a 11-week rota with varied shifts that cover a split of early, late and some night shifts. You’ll also get around 50% of weekends as planned rest days. T.is a 20% shift allowance on top of the base salary for shift work. You will be provided with support through an extensive coaching and development framework, in conjunction with your assigned coach for up to 3 months.


What you’ll bring


You will have experience of collating information and dissemination to both internal/ external stakeholders to defined deadlines. You will be used to working in a busy multi agency environment, providing information to various audiences and the ability to identify any conflicts in operational activity. Experience of providing excellent customer service in various formats to stakeholders and customers is essential. You will have the ability to respond positively to varying workloads, working under pressure and acting in a prompt and accurate manner. To be considered you will be educated to A level or equivalent or have equivalent levels of experience.


What we offer


This is a permanent role with a salary of £37,435 – £41,892 per annum depending on experience, plus 20% shift allowance, equating to a starting salary of £44,922.
