NXTGEN are working with a rapidly expanding firm of accountants based in Peterborough in their search for a new Accounts Senior. The firm have had a fantastic 2023 to date, continuing to win new clients and gain market share, leading to these new hires so it's a great time for aspiring leaders to be joining the team. As a Senior member of the team, you will supporting the ongoing mentoring and development of those who are continuing their own professional development and studies, acting as a real role model.

As Accounts Senior you will focus on the delivery of an excellent all round general practice service to clients, supporting them with the delivery of both monthly management accounts and year end submissions. From time to time, you will also have the opportunity to support with some auditing services for those that meet the threshold but the bulk of responsibilities will be accounts preparation and technical submissions. The Accounts Senior will also be expected to provide general consultancy advice to clients, working with business owners to ensure they meet their own company goals. Bookkeeping and Tax/VAT tasks will also be a requirement of the role.

The successful candidate will ideally be either close to full qualification or will be qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a background working in Accountancy Practice. You will be technically capable with a good working knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102. Experience with cloud accounting packages is desirable with most of the client portfolio operating within the SME space and using systems such as Quickbooks and Xero. Study support is available for those in the latter stages of their qualification with ongoing professional training and development offered to those who are already qualified.
