Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Driver to join a Housing Association in Barnsley on an initial 6-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Duties:

• To drive vehicles up to and including 3 tonnes carrying capacity.
• To carry out relevant vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle meets with legislative road transport standards.
• To obtain vehicle fuel through the approved fuelling system
• To ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and tidy
• To transport materials between the depot, properties and agreed locations around the Borough
• To collect materials from our suppliers and deliver to locations around the Borough
• To be responsible for ensuing all materials for delivery are secured on the vehicle using the appropriate straps, anchor points and containers.
• To ensure all areas of the Stores and yard is kept tidy and clear of rubbish
• To load and unload materials, ensuring manual handling procedures are adhered to
• To assist with picking orders for delivery
• To ensure all uncollected /returned materials are labelled correctly
• To assist in ensuring that Health and Safety legislation and good practice is complied with.
• To assist in developing and administering an effective delivery service across Construction Services
• To organise own workload, ensuring the most cost effective delivery route is taken
  

Requirements & Skills:

• Attention to detail
• Good self-management & task organisation
• Experience of working with software applications including Microsoft office, bespoke databases
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with people on all levels, including internal and external customers, suppliers, and managers
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Willingness to work flexible hours
