We are seeking to appoint a motivated, committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Computing to join our supportive and caring school community, and make a significant difference to our students through inspirational teaching.

The post offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to develop innovative practice in teaching and learning, further develop curricular and co-curricular experiences and really become part of an exceptional group of staff in a happy and thriving school. 

The Computing department is very successful at Wellacre, with outcomes well above the national average, and considerable strengths in the extra-curricular provision in school. We have a well-resourced department and are forward thinking in our curriculum and teaching approaches. Our Computing ambassadors are highly regarded and support STEM projects in school.

Wellacre Academy is an 11-16 all boys’ school set in the heart of Trafford. We have high expectations for all our students and our policies and practices are values driven. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.

We prioritise staff and student wellbeing and have realistic policies for feedback, data collection and homework. We recognise staff and student achievement and provide tailored CPD programmes which have been recognised in the Gold Award from the Teacher Development Trust.
