Job Overview

Partnership with Senior Manager Store Planning providing leadership on the development and execution of all assigned Store Planning projects to support corporate business initiatives including but not limited to New Store Capital Projects, Renovations and Expansions, and Minimum Standard Upgrades. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the organization, management, development and coordination of all plans and fixture requirements for any assigned project.
  • Collaborate in scope development and budgeting exercises to assure both shopping experience and business expectations are successfully achieved.
  • Responsible to develop presentation quality plans and effectively present to senior management when applicable.
  • Responsible to collaborate with all Store Environment partners for all required information leveraging knowledge and professional expertise to assure all project documentation is well thought, accurate, and conveys project intent.
  • Responsible for completing or managing the completion of multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Review final drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to key Macy’s Store Planning guidelines.
  • Be proactive identifying and initiating best practice processes. Ensure projects adhere to current Store Environment Brand Standards.
  • Lead and provide guidance to Associate, Store Planning on projects and construction document procedures when applicable.
  • Responsible for onboarding and management of project consultants on all project planning issues ensuring project deliverable goals are satisfying or exceeding performance expectations on schedule and on budget.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 6 or more years of architectural or planning experience, minimum 3 years in a retail environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret informational documents such as reports. Ability to initiate problem solving alternatives and determine a solution for approval. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct successful meetings on site, via webinar, and via phone.
  • Highly proficient in Autocad. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Ability to follow projects through to completion. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Self- starter, Ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate and work as a part of a team and lead multi-disciplinary teams. Strong leadership profile.
  • Self–starter. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Traditional 40 hour work week (Monday through Friday) with occasional flexibility in scheduling as required. Consistent, punctual, dependable attendance required.

Physical Requirements

This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
