Do you want to impact educators and students around the globe? At McGraw Hill, the Assistant Academic Designer will help plan and develop instructional materials for Grades K-5 Math programs that are delivered in both print and digital formats.

This position is a remote position for candidates who reside in the U.S. however could also be located in Columbus, Ohio, or Chicago, Illinois. It will be filled as a 12-month Project Status Worker (PSW) designation.

How can you make an impact?
As an Assistant Academic Designer, you will help plan and develop instructional materials for print and digital math products for students. This includes textbooks, interactive activities, assessments, and teacher lesson plans.

What can you expect from this position?
  • Assist in the development of elementary math instructional materials available in print or digital formats
  • Produce accurate, error-free, high-quality content that meets curriculum standards and displays appropriate reading level, grammar, and style
  • Follow approved workflows at all stages of development, and meet all intermediate and final schedule dates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that market requirements, project schedules, and product goals are met
  • Demonstrate effective organizational and excellent time management skills; productive, efficient work habits and the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility to rapidly changing priorities and demands

We’re looking for someone with...
  • Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, mathematics, or related field required.
  • Strong preference for candidates with 1+ years of writing/editorial experience.
  • Great organizational skills, with propensity for hitting deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Classroom teaching experience is required; strong preference for candidates with teaching experience in Grades 1 or 2.

The pay range for this position is between $48,000 - $50,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act and the New York City Pay Transparency Act.
