WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Product Brief is the first spark of a product idea sets the Footwear Product Creation team into motion. The team of footwear developers, testers, engineers and designers collectively strive for product excellence in every way. They obsess over smallest of details, while collaborating, ideating and refining product construction, performance, fit and style. They use groundbreaking advancements in technology, sustainable design and materials to accelerate innovation. And they work lockstep with Marketing, Design, Materials, Testing, and Manufacturing to produce products that reflect the soul of Nike, that inspire and ultimately enable our athletes to reach all new levels of performance.

As a member of the Nike Skateboarding (SB)and All Conditions Gear (ACG) Footwear Development team, you will inform, drive, and facilitate decisions throughout the product creation process to meet or exceed the design vision, athlete performance and product excellence. You will be an active thought partner with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Materials, and Factory Product Creation Teams to develop processes and tools that push boundaries and create solutions that support the creation of Nike's game changing footwear products!

We are looking for a Footwear Developer II, who will provide project and process direction within Nike Skateboarding (SB)and All Conditions Gear (ACG) Technical Development teams both here and in Asia, and who will drive and lead our end-to-end product creation process, including sampling and prototyping across geographies. You will have a passionate for quality and crafted product that meets or exceed our performance criteria and design intent. You will apply your advanced level of footwear technical knowledge to influence and drive the team through 3D Prototyping, Upper Patterns, Bottom Tooling, Materials, Costing, and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives in an efficient, effective, sustainable, and timely way!


WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
This person is responsible for converting a project brief and a 2D design into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the team, enables timely decision-making and ultimately, helps to meet the needs of our consumer. You will lead, guide and influence decisions that will lead to timely product confirmation and sample delivery. You'll complete the product creation process according to critical dates and performance/profitability goals. You'll work with your multi-functional teammates to ensure manufacturability of product concepts.

Additionally, you will utilize footwear knowledge and tools to achieve project designs effectively and appropriately. You'll apply fundamental understanding of Nike Best Practices to identify testing requirements to ensure product performance through dynamic and field-testing. You will recommend and specify component material, and construction options to meet key features, benefits, and product performance goals. In addition, you'll engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, appropriately commercialized, and manufactured, while meeting design intent performance, costing, and sustainability goals.


WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As a member of NIKE’s Footwear Technical Development team, you will inform, drive and facilitate decisions throughout the product creation process to deliver design vision, athlete performance and product excellence. You will collaborate with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Testing, Materials and Factory product creation teams to actively develop processes and tools that build solutions that support the creation of product.


WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 4+ years total project management work experience recommended in footwear from within multiple sport dimensions. (Experience working on new technologies and innovation a plus)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to champion complex projects both cross-functionally and vertically within the organization
  • A leadership identity that fosters teamwork that instills trust and collaboration to deliver product excellence
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving approach with an obsession for details
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the tools supporting and driving the footwear product creation process, best demonstrating subject matter experts in upper patterns, materials, bottom tooling, costing, test methods, and manufacturing.
  • A highly organized and resilient mentality, a high tolerance for ambiguity, with an exceptional ability to seamlessly balance ever-changing competing priorities.
  • Ability to mentor teammates in footwear construction, product creation process, best practices, and policies
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
