Summary

Manage the activities and lead the staff of the Treasury Operations & Compliance team in SRP's Treasury. This team supports all areas of Treasury including debt issuance, financial trusts, and General Fund and other investments. Activities include leading efforts to ensure SRP completes all necessary compliance, accounting, regulatory, legal, or other required documents, filings, entries, and reports related to SRP's issuance of debt, management of investments and funded assets, banking and other activities. Manage and ensure the necessary people have appropriate access to banking, investment, and other related accounts. Manage and ensure the necessary Treasury team members have access to SAP or other systems utilized for the management of SRP financial assets, cash, and debt. Lead efforts related to serving internal customers related to prepaid debit cards and other related activities. Manage commercial banking activities with other internal groups, including Customer Services, Papago Park Center, and other groups.

What You'll Do

  • Accomplish department objectives by managing and developing staff, planning and evaluating department activities and objectives.
  • Manage the team's annual budget analysis and provide input for related activities
  • Lead the preparation of regular required compliance filings including AZ Open Books, SEC Continuing Disclosure, Annual Funded Status Report, and others as needed
  • Lead efforts related to monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting, including cash clearings, monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and necessary year-end and benefit audit work
  • Provide support with required actuarial valuations, analyses, and other plan-related disclosures or reporting
  • Manage bank account access for SRP; manage commercial bank relationships and accounts
  • Lead and build relationships with internal and external business units and vendors
  • Lead the preparation of the required cash statements
  • Lead the preparation of the Treasury Compliance Dashboard
  • Lead and assist in efforts related to required debt management, including debt service payments, Build America Bonds (BABs) subsidy receipts, arbitrage rebate
  • Lead efforts related to prepaid debit cards and service thereof
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal tax law and other regulations and rules.
  • Conduct presentations to Management and/or the Board and Council as needed
  • Lead and develop a dynamic team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to team members, ensuring alignment with organization goals and objective.
  • Other duties and tasks as needed.


What It Takes To Succeed

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial and capital markets, including issuing taxable and tax-exempt debt; the banking industry; investments; qualified plans; accounting, securities' compliance, and Treasury systems.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to maintain composure while dealing with tight time constraints
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to organize a diverse workload, work independently, and complete work accurately and within deadlines
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) helpful but not required.


Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience working in a Treasury Operations, or similar, environment, including but not limited to, bank account management, accounting, compliance, regulatory filings, budget management, actuarial reporting, and budgeting. Experience in a large public company, ideally within Treasury Operations is preferred.


Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
