They serve industries including power generation, pulp & paper and aerospace. This position will report to the Engineering Manager and is open due to continued business growth. The role will oversee a team of 3 individuals and offers a clear progression path to the Engineering Manager position.

Job Description

Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertiseDevelop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and stakeholdersLead the design and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulationsConduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to inform decision-makingCollaborate with other engineering disciplines, including electrical, civil, and software engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into larger projectsUtilize CAD software and other tools to create detailed designs, prototypes, and simulationsOversee the testing, validation, and optimization of mechanical systems, analyzing data and making recommendations for improvementsManage vendor relationships and procurement processes to source materials and components for projectsProvide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases of projectsStay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and bes

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferredStrong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire othersProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.In-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processesFamiliarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ISO)Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise mannerStrong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively
