Senior HRIS Analyst – Payroll, Time, Absence, and Benefits

Reporting to- Global HRIS Manager

The Senior HRIS Analyst is responsible for configuring and maintaining the Workday platform for payroll, time tracking, absence management, and benefits. The Senior HRIS Analyst will focus on continuous improvement and day to day technical support while maintaining compliance with local and global regulations. This individual must have extensive experience with Workday as well as knowledge of HR, payroll, benefits, time and absence processes. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, be highly organized, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role requires the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HRIS technologies, training, materials, and resources with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and the application of key technologies. Participates in user group meetings and conferences as required.
  • Configure and maintain the Workday platform for payroll, time and absence management, and benefits administration, including managing the configuration of the system, testing new features and functionality, and providing support to end-users.
  • Ability to understand business needs to translate them into clearly written technical requirements and proposed Workday solutions.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert and point-of-contact for payroll, benefits, absence, and time tracking modules.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and collaborate on improvement opportunities within our benefits, payroll, absence, and time tracking systems.
  • Troubleshoot and drive resolution of complex technical system or integration issues and defects by researching, diagnosing, and performing hands on configuration updates that may include custom validations, condition or eligibility rules, and calculated fields or partnering with vendors on defect resolution for integrations.
  • Organize any testing efforts for designated Workday modules - collect requirements, validate test scenarios with functional business partners, perform technical testing, and facilitate user acceptance and regression testing.
  • Establish and maintain technical documentation on business processes, change requests, and enhancements as well as end user friendly reference guides and training material.
  • Create new benefit plans, configure benefit eligibility rules, define enrollment options and ensure accurate benefit calculations for different employee groups or plan variations.
  • Take initiative with a proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Identify, distinguish, and act upon issues, problems, and opportunities.
  • Apply critical thinking and assessment skills to analyze problems and data as part of the development of corrective actions and recommendations.
  • Train and mentor users, functional leads, and other staff members.
  • Occasionally provides after-hour and weekend support as needed.
  • Support GL account maintenance and adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive payroll and benefits information.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of payroll processing life-cycle within Workday (pay inputs, calculations, retro processing, complete, settlement) and pay calculation troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Benefits, Absence, and Time Tracking modules with experience configuring benefits and absence plans, time off, time entry templates and codes, accrual calculations and schedules.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent requests and deliverables.
  • Capability to think critically and make strategic decisions treating every challenge as an opportunity for improvement and efficiency.
  • Basic understanding of Workday Security.
  • Proficient in Workday EIB Data loading process.
  • workday certification preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience managing projects, working with stakeholders, and delivering reports within timelines.
