The Big Picture: Howden Power is looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to supervise the welding department, specialised welders and welding related administration on various sites. What needs to be done?

• Management of projects from start to commissioning within budgeted hours, cost and time and according to agreed scope of work, QCP documentation and project plan.
• Assist with the setting up of welding procedures and spares list for upcoming shutdowns to ensure all parts are in place before work starts on various sites.
• Planning of resources, tools, equipment and site office to ensure project is equipped correctly. This will include, but not limited to arranging the balancing and alignment for all the sites and to ensure that all specialised welders are arranged to weld balancing weights.
• Responsible for Health & Safety on site and to ensure all documentation and reports are in place and up to date.
• Management of associates’ day to day activities on site and do first line QC inspection
• Ensure that welding qualifications, welding specifications and procedures are kept up to date.

What do you need to bring?

• 
  Matric/Grade 12
• Trade tested and qualified Boilermaker or Welder.
• International Welding Specialist (IWS)
• 5 Years’ Experience in Power Station Draught Plant.
• Fabrication and Welding Inspector Level 1 & 2.
• ISO 9001 Quality Training.
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and applications.
• Vibrations and Balancing of Fans Experience.
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
• 3 years Minimum in Supervisory role will be an advantage
