Core Description
Manage activities in the Account Receivable function for a specific business area. Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in account receivable duties in order to use in maintaining accounting records Key Deliverables / Primary Functions Manage the accounts receivable process for the team Take the lead in obtaining revenue by verifying and completing receivable transactions Allocate daily deposits and unallocated deposits received - accurately and timeously Reconcile debtor statements and follow up on outstanding debt Perform daily clearance of unallocated, unapplied, on account and unidentified cash Produce and maintain debtor age analysis reports and print and distribute debtor statements Perform efficient and effective debt collection and monthly debtor reconciliations Prepare all correcting Accounts Receivable journals; Perform month-end and financial year-end procedures for AR Manage people - oversee and review staff’s activities Provide coaching and guidance and ensure that the necessary training takes place Ensure that all queries are resolved Assist auditors and provide feedback on audit queries Manage and promote effective interaction with suppliers and business and maintain productively enriching relationships Assist in the identification of internal control weaknesses and suggest/implement improvement Core Functional Skills & Knowledge Financial and Accounting Standards and Principles Financial Governance Bookkeeping Invoicing Reporting Core Behavioural Competencies Job Match Analysing Deciding & Initiating Action Delivering Results & Meeting customer expectations Presenting and Communicating information Minimum Qualifications NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in Finance NQF 4: Grade 12 National Diploma Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage Experience
3 Years’ experience in finance, experience and relevant exposure to the financial sector and the full accounting function.
If Grade 12 only, then 5 years’ relevant experience of which 2 years’ supervising others Certifications None Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry Level of Engagement & Span of Control
