The Senior Logistics Specialist is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the SCS Logistics Operational Activities by performing the relevant administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping of technology goods. Communication and coordination with key suppliers and carriers are crucial, handling routine questions and problems and maintaining open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. Managing & confirming the accuracy of carrier invoices, bills and charges relative to the shipment of goods is a key function. Processing and maintaining order information into the online management platform (TRACK) and files and maintains compliance paperwork as necessary. Managing, and overseeing the UK export compliance responsibilities for the business.

Working at NTT

  • Accurate and efficient issuing of Shipping Instructions specific to the commercial model applicable to the shipment.

  • Fulfilment of large, global deals for MNC’s.

  • Carefully monitoring shipment progress, and ensuring clients are updated and made aware of any changes to estimated time of arrival.

  • Managing, and maintaining the UK export compliance procedures for NTT SCS & NTT UK respectively, monitoring records and generating reports for audit purposes.

  • Obtaining export paperwork for goods requiring compliance, and sourcing carriers / suppliers capable of handling DG requirements.

  • Acting as an intermediate support function to the broader team, as a Senior position within the business.

  • Maintaining healthy relationships with clients, carriers and vendors, hosting and managing meetings to build, or maintain rapport.

  • Ensuring consistent, accurate updates to the internal tracking system.

  • Maintain processes for ensuring data accuracy and current relevance and representation.

  • Provide recommendations, both internally and with clients, based on client-specific needs.

  • Effectively communicates reporting and analytics to clients and stakeholders on calls / in meetings.

  • Identify process improvements to streamline operational processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong working knowledge of international logistics operations

  • Good awareness of multi-modal logistics transactions

  • Proven experience in dealing with large, international MNC’s

  • Proven compliance knowledge in international logistics operations

  • Ability to work closely with clients (internal) focusing on solving client needs

  • Passionate about achieving results and statistics

  • Good problem solving and analytical skills along with strong organisational and research skills

  • Ability to handle a diverse range of people and interact with all levels of employees and management

  • Ability to identify trends & business opportunities within the international supply chain space

  • Good analytical and creative problem-solving ability

  • Self-directed, highly organised and able to independently coordinate multiple assignments

  • Ability to work independently and remotely as well as on-site at The Campus (Bryanston)

  • Very comfortable interacting, communicating to clients and presenting to them
