Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, Technical Operations Project Management the Project Manager provides Project Management expertise. The position holder is the Project Manager for local and global cross-functional teams supporting the development and commercial products. The Project Manager plans and executes product-specific projects and business process improvement initiatives which are in line with Horizon Pharma’s strategic goals. Responsibilities:
- Establish, lead and manage cross functional project teams to support all Technical Operations activities towards product development and commercial supply
- Focus on projects driving manufacture and development of biologics drug products for commercial product and lifecycle management into and from the Waterford site
- Organize activities to ensure project completion within scope, on schedule and within budget, including detailed reporting
- Identify risks, prepare mitigation and contingency plans and manage escalation of issues to Senior Management
- Facilitate team meetings including setting agenda, providing meeting minutes and drive actions
- Create and maintain consistent project documentation
- Ensure team conflicts are resolved in a professional and timely manner
- Participate in identifying and implementing improvements to project management processes, tools and infrastructure
- Manage, guide and motivate assigned global, cross-functional teams
- Lead teams in preparation of project objectives that support organizational goals
- Lead teams in preparing presentations and documents for technical audiences as well as for reporting to Senior Management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and budgets
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with experience in Project Management, including independently managing or leading cross-functional teams
- Minimum 5 years experience in the Pharma or Biotech Industry preferably with on-site manufacturing exposure
- Proven track record of success in Project Management within Pharmaceutical Development and / or Technical Operations experience essential
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects including scope management, timeline, budgets and action item follow up in a global, cross functional team setting
- Experience in manufacturing / development of biologics drug substances and drug products is a plus
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines
- People management experience preferred
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ad hoc travel in Europe and in the US will be required as part of this role.
